How Can You Help
Education-
- By registering with us and participation in our class, we can assist you in learning about the TNR Program and how it will improve the life of the cats as well as the community.
- By learning more about the TNR Program and the conditions these cats live in and some overall statistics, you will be better educated to tell other people and get them involved by showing them how the community will benefit.
Action -
- If you see stray cats, try to find out where they live or where they are staying. Find out if someone is feeding them and get more information or let them know about us. If you can't find someone who is taking care of them, set up a feeding routine yourself and get some experienced help trapping, fixing, and feeding them. Talk to us and we can get you coordinated with other registered people who want to help. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CATCH CATS UNLESS YOU ARE A CERTIFIED OR EXPERIENCED TRAPPER. PRECAUTION MUST BE TAKEN AT ALL TIMES.
- Volunteer with Backyard Sanctuary and help others in their situation to help their colony. If we work together, we can make a difference.
- Foster kittens or tamable adult cats and help get them adopted. We will work with different rescues and participate in some of their adoption days and we will have adoption days at our events as well.
Financial / sponsor
- Your financial support is essential to the success of this program. We depend on donations from you to care for these homeless animals in your community. A one time donation is greatly appreciated, but a monthly donation helps us year around, and this is a continuous ongoing problem all year long.
- Sponsor a cat or sponsor a colony that doesn't have a financial caregiver. These are colonies that are cared for by volunteers at different times in a local location, not at a caregivers home. These colonies are behind restaurants, grocery stores, junk yards, factories, schools, and anywhere they can get the food they need. Without sponsors, these cats can lead a very short and difficult life and be subject to overbreeding and slow death from disease and starvation. See our MEMBERSHIP AND SERVICE PAGE for details.
